Care at a glance

Water
Keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy; allow the top inch of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Use distilled or rainwater if possible, as Stromanthe are sensitive to fluoride and chlorine.
Light
Provide bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight will scorch their leaves, while too little light will cause them to lose their vibrant coloration.
Humidity
Requires high humidity, ideally above 60%.
Temperature
Maintain temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C).
Soil
Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix.
Fertilizer
Feed every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.
Toxicity
Non-toxic to pets and humans.
Propagation
Propagate by division during repotting; carefully separate sections of the rhizome that have roots and at least one leaf stalk.
